I started in health insurance over 15 years ago as an intern at Blue Shield of California in the San Diego sales office. As an intern in a sales environment, I got to learn firsthand about the entire sales process from beginning to end. I knew right away that this is what I wanted to do as a career. I had such a great opportunity to learn from some amazing individuals at Blue Shield and I couldn’t wait to get into sales.

 

What do you like most about your job?
I love prospecting and meeting new potential clients.

 

What’s the biggest accomplishment of being a health insurance broker?
When I became a Principal at Barney & Barney, now Marsh & McLennan Agency, LLC.

 

What are your long-term goals?
To continue to provide excellent service to my clients and to help our firm grow.

 

What are your hobbies?
Watching movies with my wife and enjoying life in America’s finest city.

 

If you could give an advice to young people who are thinking about stepping into this industry, what would you say to them?
There is no substitute for hard work. Put in the effort and you will be rewarded. Also, be sure to always deliver on your promises.
