Tech Team Updates for January 2024

This month’s Tech Team Updates offers more news you can use concerning Ease, the online enrollment platform for health insurance brokers working in the 2-250 employee marketplace.
 
Ease Intake Form: Be sure you are always using the most current Word & Brown Intake Form for cases you’re setting up in Ease. Download the form and instructions now.
 
Upcoming Enhancements: Three enhancements are coming to Ease:
  • Basic validation of data entered in Ease: The system will now ensure that the following information is formatted corrected: Company – Tax ID; Employee – SSN, Date of Birth, Date of Hire, Salary
  • Audit reports: Reports for brokers show critical data missing for integrated plans such as addresses, DOBs, salaries for employees enrolled in life plans that are a multiple of income, etc. This will help brokers get ahead of carrier errors (vs. being reactive).
  • Carrier enrollment forms: Historical enrollment forms in Ease for current employees will be available in Employee Navigator’s interface.
 
Carrier Integrations: Employee Navigator has begun collaborating with carriers to ensure they can manage the higher volume of cases expected in the future. Integrated carriers will have access to a real-time queue of companies that have migrated to Employee Navigator, thus allowing them to create an internal workflow to efficiently make necessary changes. The current plan includes transferring any carrier codes as part of the migration.
 
Ease Quick Tips
How to Extend Open Enrollment
If you want to extend your group’s Open Enrollment, follow these steps:
  1. Go to Benefits > Open Enrollment.
  2. Unlock End Date (Be sure to also update the lock date under the “Lock Enrollment” tab.)
  3. To extend for specific employees, go to Benefits > Open Enrollment; click the “Extend Open Enrollment” button; select affected employees; add date to “Open Enrollment End Date Override” box.
 
How to Unlock Employees
To unlock employees, follow these steps:
  1. Go to Benefits > Lock Enrollment.
  2. Click the “Actions” button > Unlock All Employees.
  3. To unlock enrollment for specific employees, go to Benefits > Lock Enrollment; remove the mark from specific employees to unlock.
