Tech Team Updates for September 2023


This month’s Tech Team Updates offer more news you can use concerning Ease, the online enrollment platform for health insurance brokers working in the 2-250 employee marketplace.
Ease Intake Form: Be sure you are always using the most current Word & Brown Intake Form for cases you’re setting up in Ease. Download the form and instructions now.
Change for Authentication Code: Ease has removed the SMS (Text) option for receiving 2FA (two-factor authentication) codes. Users must reset their Authenticator Code to use the Application Feature. (Sign in to access it.) While there is an email option available, this is not recommended as it will be going away.
Early Adopters of Employee Navigator (EN): Many brokers have requested early access to EN. Here are some key points about the transition from Ease to EN:
  • There will be no additional licensing fee to access EN.
  • Each broker will be required to sign a new EN License Agreement.
  • If you have Ease and EN licenses, you will need to continue paying for both, until the license conversion program in the future.
  • EN has not completed the invitation for General Agents (GA). GAs may license EN, but their access will be limited at this time.
Integration Updates and FAQs: EN has been doing demos on its product. Recordings and FAQs are available by signing into your Ease account.
Ease Quick Tips
Renew Plans
To easily Renew Plans, follow these steps:
  • Click on Company > Benefits > Plans.
  • Place a check next to each plan to be duplicated.
  • Click Actions.
    • Choose Renew Plans (Selecting old plan automatically creates new plan name and effective date.)
  • Review eligibility, contributions, and documents for changes from year to year.
  • Click Renew plan only once to prevent creating additional plans.
  • Update rates for the correct pay period.
  • For plans not renewing, be sure to click the Ignore Renewal Notice. If not checked, Ease may renew the plan automatically.
